BLOTTO RESUMPTION

Quay Celtic Blotto Returns!!
Quay Celtic Blotto is back from this Monday 13th of July and the Jackpot is €2,800 and the match 3 is €300.
This is a very important fundraiser for the club and the only one we will have this year,we rely on the support of the parents and players to generate revenue from this draw,please sign up and also Share via Facebook with ex players and anybody from the Quay area who might be living abroad.

Training Resumption

Quay Celtic are delighted that training has resumed at Clancy Park under  Government and FAI guidelines .All requirements and Risk assessments have been completed and are in place ,and we would ask everybody to follow these requirements. Entry to Clancy Park for training sessions  is at the double gates on the Navvy Bank and exit only from the main car park.The committee have worked very hard to get training up and running and want to emphasise that this is a phased approach.We will follow all advice from both the Government and the FAI  in the constantly changing situation.Thanks very much for your support at these times ,its just great to see teams back .

Blotto Suspended

Our Blotto has been suspended until further notice,any online  payments will also be suspended until the Blotto resumes.

COVID-19 Update

Training and Matches Suspended until further notice

The SFAI have issued a statement instructing all SFAI affiliated schoolboys leagues to suspend ALL football activities with immediate effect until further notice.

Quay Celtic F.C has taken this advice on board and as and from today 12th March all training and matches are to be suspended.Hopefully the prompt action taken will stem the progress of the virus and we can resume activities as soon as possible.

Quay Celtic Easter Camp!!

Junior Football 2019

Summer Football for Juniors resumes this Saturday 2nd March at 11.00 am  for Children born in 2012 ,2013 and 2014.At Clancy Park.

We are also looking for parents, ex players or anybody who would have a interest in coaching to assist the club with the running of this summer project. If you are interested contact Trevor on 087 2784676.

 

REGISTRATION 2019 SEASON

REGISTRATION 2019

The  2019 Season is the first season where the season will take place over a Calendar Year.We expect the season to start in Mid February  and to carry on until November.We do expect to have some form of break for the last two weeks in May and the month of June to facilitate exams.It has to be decided yet if their will be a break for the other age groups not affected by exams.

All registrations must be paid online and your child registration must be paid before they can be registered as players on the DDSL and FAI  players databases.The registration fees are paid by everybody and it is the only source of income where everybody pays for the running and the upkeep of our Pitches, Dressing Rooms and day to day running of our club and to maintain the high standards which everybody has come to expect .Without this revenue the club would cease to operate .

Complimentary Kube Tickets

As part of the Short Season registration  Complimentary Tickets for the Kube shall be given out on Saturday 13th Oct from 11am to 3pm  and Sunday 14th Oct from 10am to 1pm at the Clubhouse .These are the only dates and times that the free tickets will be distributed and will only be given to the parents of the registered child.Tickets cannot be collected on anybodys behalf. Extra Tickets can also be purchased at these times at the cost of €20 . This is a fantastic nights entertainment and really shouldnt be missed .Kids are also welcome.

Short Season Registration

The Minor league has introduced a Short Season to faciliate a smooth turnover to Calendar Football which is planned to start in Feb/March 2019. The Short Season will kick off in the first week in September and will complete by the first/second week in November(approx 9week Season).The Registration Fees for the Short Season will be   €40 per child, this  fee will also include a Free ticket to the Kube(the the value of €20).The registration covers children born from 2009 upwards.All registrations must now be paid Online or directly to our Bank using our IBAN number .All details can be found on the club registration form which still must be filled in and returned to your manager.

Tuesday  7th August to Thursday 9th August. All abilities welcome.
Time: 10am to 2pm
Ages: 5 to 13
Price: 40 Euros per Child

    Activities Include:

  • Ball manipulation
  • Small sided games
  • Fun environment

This can only be booked Online or at the Clubrooms. Places are limited and it is advised to book early to secure a place.

Kids Summer Football 2018

Summer Football for 5 ,6 and 7 year olds resumes next Saturday 7th April from 10am till 11am at Clancy Pk.We expect it to run until early July.All boys and girls born in 2011,2012 and 2013 are welcome.Unfortunately we will not be taking anybody born outside of those years.You can register on the day and the cost is €60 .

Ladies Team 2018

Quay Celtic Ladies are looking for any ladies over 16 years of age and interested in playing summer  football. Games are played every Monday through the summer. The ladies are now back in training every Wednesday night in Clancy park from 9 to 10 .If any ladies would like  to play please contact Dave on 0838577548 or John on 0833620056 .

Registration for Season 2017 2018

Registrations are now being taken for the upcoming Season,we will be holding Registration days in the next couple of weeks at the clubhouse more information will follow later.

 

We would encourage all parents to pay online or direct to our bank account as this a safe and secure way of paying registrations .Details of both are outlined on our registration forms.

For anybody who pays ONLINE before Sep 30th their names will entered into a draw for Kit Bag,Tracksuit and Windjacket .This includes anybody who has paid online already.

Only previously registered players can register online,new players have to register in person.

Coaching for Non Competetive Age Groups

Quay Celtic have appointed Stephen Mc Donnell as head coach for the club. The coaching schedule will start with all Non Competetive age groups for the remainder of this season.The coaching sessions will be structured ,high energy and fun .All coaching sessions will be taken by the existing Coaches and Manager and overseen by Stephen.
The times for the Sessions are below and will not change for the remainder of the Season.

Saturday morning: 10am – 11 am 6,7,8 year olds
11am – 12pm 9-10 year olds

Monday evening: 6pm – 7pm 11 year olds
7pm – 8pm week 1: 12year old
week 2: 13 year old
week 3: 14 year old
week 4: 15 year old
week 5: 16 year old
week 6: 17 year old

Soccer Coaching in the USA Summer 2017

Coach Soccer in the USA is a summer programme for people aged 18-30 years old who have an interest in Soccer or working with kids.Participants coach soccer teams and players on the East and West coast of America from anywhere between 6-13 weeks.Participants do not need to have any coaching qualifications or FAI badges.To be accepted onto the programme,participants will have to attend and be successful at the assessment day.At the assesment day participants will demonstrate their coaching ability and knowledge of the sport.
The Assessment day takes place at DKIT sport on 1st December at 5pm.

Best Quay Teams over the Decades

In conjunction with our 50 Year Celebrations we decided to choose some of the Best Quay Teams over the Quays History.
The Teams were divide into 4 categories: 1966-1979, 1980-1989, 1990-1999, 2000-2016.

The teams were chosen by three individuals who either managed or played with those players within that time frame.As we have had so many players coming through our gates over the years it would be impossible to choose a team which people universally agree with, and with this in mind this was done in the context of a bit of fun and craic.

Children born in 2009 will resume on Monday 11th May at 6pm Clancy Park
Children Born in 2008 are Saturday mornings 11.00 am Clancy Park

DINNER DANCE TICKETS NOW ON SALE

Tickets are now on sale for our Dinner Dance taking place on Sunday June 5th (Bank Holiday Weekend)at the Ballymascanlon Hotel.

Charity Football Match

In conjunction with our 50th Year celebrations.On Friday night 22nd April a feast of football and footballers will be on display when a selection of Quay Celtic legends (a very loose term) take on the infamous Rock Stars in a winner takes all Challenge.This will be followed by a Raffle and refreshments in Tom Carkes bar all proceeds from this footballing tragedy (sorry treat) will go to the Links project where our own Paul O’Connell has raised a lot of money and awareness to this great cause.

Table Quiz

We are holding a Table Quiz in Tom Clarkes Bar on Saturday 23rd April. Table of 4 €40. Food served on the night with music provided by DJ Frankie.Every age group should provide at least one team for the Quiz.

Referee Courses

Do you fancy becoming a Referee?
An FAI Referee Beginner course will take place in Oriel Park commencing 7th May. Details can be found by clicking on www.fai.ie/referees and going to Notices.

Appeal for Photographs

As we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary we are appealing to any ex or current players,family members and photographers to share any photographs they may have to highlight the last 50 years in pictures.
If you have them in Digital format you can post them on our Facebook page or EMail them to quaycelticfc@gmail.com.
If you have original photos we would be grateful if you could bring them down to Clancy Park on any Monday night between 7.30 and 9.pm.Where they will be scanned the next day and returned promptly to their owners.

Registration

The Club rooms will be open again this Saturday to facilitate anybody wishing to pay Registration Fees,it will be open from 10.00am until 1pm.

Registration Day

Congratulations

Congratulations to our Summer League team who have won the First Div title with three games to go.They will be presented with the trophy on Thursday night after their home game at the Army Pitch.

U18 Team NEFL New League

A meeting has been organised for any players who wish to play for Quay Celtic in the new U18 league in the NEFL.
The meeting takes place on Thursday 2nd July at 8pm Clancy park.
The team will be managed by Gerry Cooney and we will enter a team if the interest is there.
All players interested in playing are welcome to attend.

Seamus Agnew has beaten the Kube

Last night at the Crowne Plaza Dundalk our production of the Kube took place in front of a huge crowd.All 40 contestants went in to the Kube one by one to see if they could defeat it.After 8 rounds and two Semi Finals we were whittled down to the final four contestants.

There was a flurry of activity at the Tote where all the smart money was on Eana McArdle to be victorious. But in a nail-biting final game both Ciaran Dunne and Kelvin Kelly were eliminated leaving Eana McArdle and Seamus Agnew to battle it out.But the outsider wasn’t to be denied  and he eventually won the competition defeating Eana McArdle by a slim margin of only 6 seconds.Seamus was kindly sponsored by TSM Control Systems.

We would again like to take this opportunity to thank all of the local business’s who sponsored contestants , sponsored heats and advertised in our programme,without these people the event would not be as successful as it was.

The Kube

This Saturday night the Kube takes place at the Crowne Plaza Dundalk.Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8.15pm sharp.Take note that all contestants must be at the Crowne Plaza no later than 7.30 pm to get a run through on the nights proceedings.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our local Sponsors for the support they have given to the club and to this event and we would ask everybody to support these local business’s.

The Kube Tickets

Tickets are now on sale for the Kube which is on Saturday the 18th April in the Crowne Plaza Dundalk.

Tickets are priced at €20 each and can be purchased from any Committee member.

The Kube Launch Night

The Official Launch of the Kube takes place on Tuesday 31st March in the Crowne Plaza at 7pm.All contestants who have signed up must be present on the night and have their entry fee with them if they havent already paid. Any contestant who hasn’t paid their entry fee before or on that night are in danger of losing their place as demand for places has been high and we have a number of contestants standing by.Tickets will also be on sale that night for the show itself and they are priced at €20 each.The contestants are being given first priority to purchase their tickets for family and friends as numbers are limited and we exoect demand to be high.We cannot guarantee tickets for any contestant after the launch as all tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis. The launch will give the contestants a opportunity to see how the game is structured and have a go at some of the games that will be used on the night.The local press and photographers will also be present.

 

Resumption of Leagues

The NEFL resumed on Friday night with the Senior Team getting knocked out of the Tully Cup 5-4 on Penalties after a 4-4 draw after extra time.They are away this Friday  to Black Bull which is a crucial game.The Reserves are at home on Friday night to Woodview.

The Dundalk Schoolboys League resumes this weekend with a limited amount of Fixtures with the weather having a big say on wether games go ahead or not.  The big fixture is the National Cup U13 competition  where we take on Swords Celtic  .

We have new club gear for Sale and available for Christmas .Our Range consists of Tracksuits,Hoodies,Rain Jackets ,Training Tops.These can all be viewed  on our Kit page on the Website and are on show at the Dressing Rooms with Prices attached.Orders for Christmas must be placed before 1st December to guarantee delivery and must be paid for in full.

Dundalk Schoolboys League looking for Coaches

Dundalk Schoolboys League invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill vacancies for
Manager and Assistant Manager of the League Representative Teams and Emerging Talent Programme for
the 2014/15 Season.
Minimum qualification is FAI Kick Start 1 certificate.
Application forms are available from the League Secretary and completed applications should be returned to
the League Secretary, 20 Seafield Lawns Dundalk. The closing date for receipt of applications is Monday
3rd November 2014.
